Pasta Bulking
Ingredients:
– 1 lb. penne pasta
– 1 lb. ground beef
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
– 1 tsp. dried oregano
– 1 tsp. dried basil
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the onion is soft and translucent.
4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
