  2. In a small bowl, combine the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped chives, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.

  3. On a lightly floured surface, unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet. Roll it out slightly to smooth any creases and make it easier to work with.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash.

  5. Brush the entire surface of the puff pastry with the egg wash using a pastry brush.

  6. Sprinkle the bacon and cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.

  7. Starting from one end, carefully roll the puff pastry into a tight log, similar to a jelly roll.

  8. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1-inch sections. You should end up with about 12 swirls.

  9. Place the swirls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart to allow room for them to expand while baking.

  10. Brush the tops of the swirls with the remaining egg wash for a golden finish.

  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the Bacon Swirls are puffed and golden brown.

  12. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
