Lasagna Bolognese
Ingredients
Instructions
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Remove any excess fat.
-
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
-
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Stir in the chopped parsley.
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spoon a thin layer of meat sauce to coat the bottom.
-
Place a layer of cooked lasagna noodles on top of the meat sauce, overlapping slightly. Spoon a layer of meat sauce over the noodles, followed by a sprinkle of Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
-
Repeat the layering process – noodles, meat sauce, cheeses – until you have used up all your ingredients, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
-
Cover the lasagna with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
-
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
-
Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing into pieces.
